Blake R. Carl joined Dupree, Kimbrough, Carl, & Reilly, LLP in December, 2009, as an associate attorney and was elected partner in the spring of 2016. Mr. Carl concentrates his legal practice in the areas of family law, general civil litigation, criminal law, personal injury, probate and estate planning and appellate practice. Mr. Carl has handled numerous court hearings, bench trials and jury trials in the State and Superior Courts throughout Metro Atlanta. Mr. Carl has also successfully tried a case in the United States Federal Court – Northern District of Georgia. Mr. Carl has argued before the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals, and has won several appeals throughout his career.
Mr. Carl grew up in Gainesville, Georgia, and graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 2003, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science. In 2006, he received both a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the Louisiana State University Law Center. Prior to joining Dupree, Kimbrough, Carl & Reilly, LLP, Mr. Carl was an associate attorney at Richard L. Moore, P.C., in Marietta, Georgia.
Mr. Carl became a member of the Georgia Bar Association, American Bar Association, Cobb County Bar Association, and Atlanta Bar Association in 2006, and is currently admitted to practice in the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Georgia and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. In September, 2010, Mr. Carl was admitted to practice law in South Carolina, and is licensed to practice in all Circuit Courts, Courts of Equity, the South Carolina Court of Appeals, and the South Carolina Supreme Court. In 2007, he was an Assistant Instructor at Kennesaw State University’s Paralegal Program in the areas of Legal Research and Writing I and II.
Mr. Carl, his wife, son and daughter live in Brookhaven, Georgia. Mr. Carl enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sporting events, cooking on his Big Green Egg and traveling. Mr. Carl is an avid fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons.
